Dear ICRS Members, Colleagues and Friends,
It is our pleasure to invite you to the 12th ICRS World Congress to be held in Chicago, on May 8-11, 2015 as well as for the Surgical Skills Hands-on Course (Wet-Lab) at AAOS OLC in Rosemont Chicago on May 7, 2015
The ICRS has earned its niche among professional orthopaedic societies with a unique focus on cartilage repair and biotechnology. Our mission is to bring innovative leading edge research and education to our attendees in the field of cartilage repair and restoration. The 2015 Congress in Chicago will deliver this mission at an incredible venue filled with a robust scientific programme, technology updates, clinical innovations, satellite symposiums, debates on controversial issues, and opportunities for career development. Clinicians, researchers, bioengineers, and industry partners will have the opportunity to discuss the latest developments in bio printing, joint resurfacing, rehabilitation, nanofabrication, imaging, and other areas. Importantly, ICRS treasures its partnership with other societies and industry and this will find its place during the Congress. The 12th ICRS World Congress Chicago will provide opportunities for attendees and faculty to collaborate and network with over 1000 international colleagues from more than 60 different countries.
Clinical topics will include a comprehensive update on all of the available clinical strategies currently being performed. Controversial subjects will be passionately debated with themes that include spine [disc] and foot & ankle cartilage resurfacing, and many others. Basic science sessions will include a focus on areas such as bio printing, biology of cartilage development, and biological & engineering considerations for optimal design of cartilage repair. In addition, sessions on controlled release and novel scaffold material for tissue engineering of cartilage are planned.
Chicago is a unique multicultural city perfectly located on the shores of Lake Michigan with easy access through two international airports and railroads. It is the heart and soul of the Midwest. Chicago has many nicknames; however, a prominent one is the “Second City” as after visiting for the first time, it is assured that you will be back for a second time. Chicago is rich in history, traditions, culture, sport, music, international cuisine, attractions, and of course, shopping. May should prove to be a perfect time of year as we transition into our summer months. On behalf of the local organizing committee, we would like to invite you and your families to the 12th ICRS World Congress and promise to make Chicago one of the most memorable ICRS meetings of all.
