Electronic Ballot Vote by the ICRS Membership

(Electronic Voting System will be open from October 06 - 12, 2009)

During the last ICRS Member's General Assembly, held at the ICRS 8th World Congress in Miami on May 23, 2009, our membership approved unanimously the creation of the new ICRS-owned journal, entitled "Cartilage" .
In partnership with SAGE publishers, "Cartilage" will debut in January 2010 and will be published quarterly electronically and in printed versions.

The subscription fee to "Cartilage" now need to be be included in your annual membership dues. To defray the costs for publishing and administration of the journal, the Executive Board and the General Board, unanimously approved the need to increase the annual dues for ICRS membership as from 2010.

More specifically, it is proposed that Junior Membership is increased from €60.00 to €70.00, Ordinary Membership & Fellows from €105.00 to €140.00, and the Corporate Membership from €2200.00 to €2300.00. Junior Members will have electronic access only while all other members will have electronic access and will receive at the same time, printed journals by postal mail.

This proposal requires agreement from members by relative majority. (“relative majority” mean the attainment of a greater number of votes than the number cast in favour of any alternative option).

An electronic voting system will now be set-up for our membership and voting will commence within 15 days from this notification (October 6, 2009); according to our by-laws. The voting system will remain open for 1 week (October 6 - 12, 2009) and you will again be notified by email when the voting system is ready to receive your vote.

The Executive Board and the General Board highly recommend to all ICRS members that they accept this very important motion. Please vote "yes" and consider submitting your next manuscript to "Cartilage".

 Please Vote:    "Yes"

The main link to the journal is http://cart.sagepub.com (a direct link to access the journal has also been provided in your personal ICRS member account)

Instructions, directions for submissions to authors, are available and manuscripts can be submitted at http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/cart  (to submit your manuscript to the journal you need first to open an account for your submission)

with my very best regards
